Edwardsville, IL (KSDK)- "All Seasons" sits quiet and empty at a time when business should be booming.
The owner says business has been sluggish for the past year. He says typically winter is his busy season but, with the mild temperatures he is forced to close his business.
All Seasons has been in business for 20 years. It's a family owned and operated store on South Main Street in Edwardsville, Illinois, and specializes in selling fireplaces, fireplace accessories, and grills.
The owner says he relies on the winter as his main source of revenue.
The First Alert Weather Team says so far this winter is the eighth warmest winter on record. The past four days alone have been in the 60s.
The owner says mix the unseasonably warm temperatures with the sluggish economy and that's a recipe for disaster.
"I definitely wish it was colder because that is what my business primarily relies on. If anything I'd wish for an ice storm so people would be without power so they would say 'hey I need some heat.' I know it's a bad thing to wish but it does help in contributing to my business," said Randy Hunt, the owner of All Seasons.
Hunt plans to close his business by the end of February. He says expects big discounts on everything storewide including displays and demos.
