Granite City (KSDK)--One man is dead after crashing into a Granite City church.

The Madison County Coroner has identified the victim as Allen Bloodworth, 35, of the 3200 block of Newell in Granite City.

An autopsy examination shows Bloodworth had extensive cardiac disease

Police say the man was traveling north on Edwardsville Road around 5:30 a.m. Saturday when he ran off the road and hit the side of the Sr. Bishop John. H. Green Fellowship Hall.

He died at the scene. No one else was injured.
