EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KSDK) - Westbound Interstate 64 will be reduced to one lane Wednesday between 18th and 9th streets in East St. Louis.
The closure will begin at 9 a.m. and last until 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Crews will be working to widen the shoulder for future traffic lanes for the New Mississippi River Bridge.
Delays are expected to be significant, and drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes. If traveling through the area, drivers are urged to use extra caution.
