EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - A 24-year-old Southern Illinois University Edwardsville student's cause of death has not been determined.

Tifani M. Wilder was pronounced dead Thursday night inside her SIUE apartment after she was found without signs of life.

The Madison County Coroner's Office was called around 9 p.m. after the SIUE Police Department responded to her home in the 400 block of Cougar Village after receiving a request for a welfare check from the mother of Wilder's boyfriend.

Coroner Steve Nonn says the boyfriend's mother had tried unsuccessfully to reach Wilder several times.

Wilder's 5-year-old son was found inside the home and told officers his mom would not wake up. The son was unharmed.

There was no sign of forced entry or struggle inside the apartment.

Routine toxicology tests will be performed.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
