KSDK -- Allegations involving alcohol and improper conduct with students have landed three Granite City educators in hot water.

The most recent report is that an assistant principal at Granite City High School has been re-assigned following allegations of wrongdoing with a student.

Superintendent Harry Briggs says he's never been faced with anything quite like this in his career as an educator. Last week, a teachers' aide was suspended after allegedly attending a party with some high school students where alcohol was sold and consumed.

In a separate incident, a teacher resigned last month after police began looking into reports that she may have been having an affair with an 18-year-old student.

District officials believe there was some truth to the report but they declined to be specific.
The teacher reportedly denied doing anything wrong. No criminal charges were filed.

And now an assistant principal is alleged to have been involved in a sexual relationship with a student. A private investigator has been hired to check into the situation.

School officials say they are doing the right thing; some parents are not so sure.

The suspended teachers' aide will get to have a say at a special school board hearing on December 1. Granite City has an enrollment of 7,000 students; 2,500 are at the high school.
