
KSDK -- A driver being pursued by police was seriously hurt after crashing his vehicle along Route 3 in Brooklyn, Illinois early Wednesday morning.
Police said the incident leading to the pursuit began in Granite City, Illinois. It ended with the driver losing control on Route 3 at 6th Street. The vehicle slammed head-on into a tree.
Emergency crews were called to rescue the suspect from the wreckage. He was transported to an area hospital. No one else was hurt in the crash.

Police have released no information so far as to why the vehicle was being pursued. We expect that information to be made available later this morning.
