KSDK -- A five-year-old girl shot outside a convenience store in East St. Louis on Tuesday is improving.
Police say she underwent surgery to remove the bullet on Wednesday.
The shooting began with a fight between at least two men near 15th and Broadway. One of the men went off and came back with a gun and opened fire, striking the girl in the neck.
One of the suspects is expected to be charged Thursday.
