Salem man charged with burglarizing Phelps Co. business

PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) – A 43-year-old Salem man has been charged with stealing tools and cash from a local business earlier this month.

Police say Benjamin Johnson broke into a Phelps County business on Jan. 16. While burglarizing the business, authorities say he also damaged $3,500 worth of property.

Johnson was arrested on Jan. 27, and charged with second degree burglary and property damage on Jan. 28. He is currently be held in the Phelps County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
