Samuel Adams Boston Lager is a St. Louis recipe

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Attention Red Sox fans: one of your favorite local beers comes from a St. Louis recipe.

It all started when Louis Koch developed a recipe for a great beer in St. Louis, Missouri in 1860, which he sold under the name Louis Koch Lager until the prohibition. In 1984, his great-great grandson brewed his first batch of that same beer in his kitchen. You know it today as Samuel Adams Boston Lager.

The good news for Cardinals fans? You're no longer a traitor if you help yourself to a Samuel Adams this World Series.
