St. Clair man charged with shooting son in the chest

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) – A 67-year-old St. Clair man is charged with allegedly shooting his son in the chest during an argument.

It happened at around 6 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Reiker's Ford Road – located in a rural area between Union and St. Clair. Deputies say Charles Crow got in an argument with 39-year-old Nathaniel Crowe after he came over to retrieve a vehicle.

The argument escalated until Charles Crow shot Nathaniel Crow in the chest with a .410 gauge shotgun.

Nathaniel Crow was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. There's no word yet on his condition.

His father – who has been charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action – is currently being held at Franklin County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash-only bond.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident. No additional information was immediately available.
