(KSDK) -- Outer lanes on the Kingshighway viaduct were closed between Shaw and Vandeventer for a short-time after the earthquake because pieces of concrete were seen around it.
City inspectors said pieces of concrete came off the viaduct.
They reopened the lanes a short time later and said it is safe enough to handle traffic.
Officials have not confirmed if the crumbling concrete was quake related.
The U.S. Geological Survey said it was a 5.2 magnitude earthquake from the Wabash fault zone in southern Illinois and southwestern Indiana. The epicenter was near West Salem, Ill.
