EDWARDVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- A one thousand-dollar reward is being offered for information leading to the conviction of whoever shot a pygmy goat and a sheep to death at a petting zoo near Edwardsville.
Madison County authorities say the ten-year-old goat and the year-old sheep named Stitch were found dead Saturday morning at Bilbrey Farms, which also is a bed and breakfast.
Other animals including emus and miniature horses were unharmed.
The farm's owner, Linda Bilbrey, says that after shooting the goat and sheep in the head, the culprit tossed Stitch's carcass in a pond and dragged the dead goat to the water's edge.
Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
