Suspect captured after 2 north county bank robberies

NORMANDY, Mo. (KSDK) -- A man has been apprehended after two banks were robbed Saturday morning.

Normandy police say around 9:00 a.m. they received a report of a bank robbery at the US Bank in the 3800 block of Lucas and Hunt Road.

Minutes later, police responded to another bank robbery less than a quarter of a mile away. The Simmons First National Bank located in the 7100 block of Natural Bridge was robbed next, but police have not said how much money the suspect received from either bank.

Investigators say he ran off with cash from that robbery, but didn't get very far. Officers arrested him a short time later.

So far no charges have been filed.

No one was hurt.

The suspect's identity will be released after charges are filed.
