Teen sentenced in federal bomb case

LEBANON, Ill. (KSDK) – An O'Fallon teen has been sentenced to 30 months in prison after admitting to possessing bomb-making materials.

Thomas Stanton, 18, admitted to possessing four "cricket" bombs, two Molotov cocktails and other explosive materials. An anonymous tipster told authorities that the explosives were inside of his home, prompting police to execute a search in April and temporarily lock down O'Fallon Township High School.

Stanton had also made racist writings in his journals and school notes, according to a news release.
