Runners encouraged to take MetroLink Sunday

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Metro is encouraging participants and spectators of the third annual Rock 'n Roll St. Louis Marathon and ½ Marathon to take MetroLink to and from the race this weekend.

There will be numerous street closures in place in downtown St. Louis, making it difficult for drivers to get to where they will need to go.

Three MetroLink stations are within the starting line of the race at Market Street, west of Tucker, and the finish line at Chestnut and North 15th Street.

The race will also affect MetroBus routes in downtown, midtown near the Fox Theatre, Tower Grove Park, and areas in between. The Grand MetroLink station will be open but not served byte #70 Grand MetroBus Sunday morning. Passengers will need to board buses at the Central West End MetroLink Station between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Metro says 20 MetroBus routes will be rerouted, and passengers should allow for extra travel time during their commutes.
