VA releases guide detailing what is, isn't affected

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has created aVeterans Field Guide to the government shutdown.

The guide says all VA medical facilities and clinics will remain open and fully operational, including but limited to:
- Inpatient care
- Outpatient care
- Prescriptions
- Surgeries
- Dental care
- Extended care
- Mental health care
- Nursing home care
- Special health care services for female veterans
- Vet centers

VA call centers and hotlines have stopped functioning, including but not limited to:
- VBA Education Call Center
- Inspector General Hotline
- Consumer Affairs
- Congressional Liaison Veterans
- Education benefits
- Status of Headstones and Markers
- Whistle Blower Reprisal
