Wal-Mart shooting suspects released

FESTUS, Mo. (KSDK) – The two suspects in a shooting at the Festus Walmart that left one man injured have been released from custody, police confirm.

Authorities had to release the suspects because it has been 24 hours and they still haven't filed charges. The suspects could still face charges once the investigation is over.

The shooting happened in the store's bathroom just before noon on Tuesday. The victim was shot once, but the bullet hit both his hand and jaw.

The suspects were taken into custody shortly after the incident.

Police say both the victim and suspects knew each other.
