Florissant, MO (KSDK) - Florissant police are mourning the death of an eight year veteran of the department.

Bach, a police dog, died suddenly on Saturday morning following his shift.

He was 10-years-old and suffered a blood clot.

Bach had been with the department since 2004.

During his years of service he earned two Certificates of Merit and two Letters of Commendation for catching a suspected rapist and several burglary suspects among other things.
