Wildwood, MO (KSDK) - The key words at MDA Camp are these: be prepared!
Deep in the woods of Babler State Park in Wildwood, Missouri, the Muscular Dystrophy Association operates a summer camp for children with neuromuscular diseases.
There are indoor activities but it's summertime, so the 60 campers, many of them in wheelchairs, spend most of their time outdoors.
There's plenty of water and other cool beverages and food at MDA Camp and counselors say they are prepared for the hot weather to come.
NewsChannel 5 will air a three hour MDA fundraiser on Sunday, September 2, 2012. KSDK has been associated with MDA and the MDA telethons for 30 years.
