New York (CNN) -- Folks in New York are gearing up for Nathan's Famous July Fourth International Hot Dog-Eating Contest.

The video above is from last year's contest.

The 10 minute, all-you-can stomach hot-dog contests will feature nearly 30 contestants.

Five-time champ Joey "Jaws" Chestnut of San Jose, California will try to defend his title.

Along with female champion eater Sonya The Black Widow" Thomas of Alexandria, Virginia.

Men and women will compete separately for the title of "Hot Dog Eating World Champion", and a $20,000 cash prize.

Nearly 40,000 people are expected to attend the food-eating challenge.
