Pingjiang, China (CCTV) -- A Chinese acrobat survived a fall from a tightrope in central China.

The acrobat was walking backwards 657-feet above the ground with his eyes covered when he slipped.

Chinese Central TV said the tightrope was sloped at 30 degrees in some places and was swaying slightly.

The acrobat didn't take any safety precautions except for the pole he used to keep balance.

He fell from about 130-feet from the end of the nearly 2,300 foot-long tightrope.

The drop was relatively small at that point and he didn't appear to be seriously injured.

The acrobat told CCTV he felt slightly faint after walking more htan 50 minutes and slipped because of the wind.
