Things were as rowdy as you might expect at Saturday's taping of Comedy Central's roast of Roseanne Barr, airing Sunday at 10 p.m.
Comedian and "Roastmaster General" Jeffrey Ross showed up on the red carpet in a Penn State jacket with boys sporting football helmets and gym towels.
He explained to reporters that the "P" on his jacket stood for "People who can take a joke," reports Huffington Post. He went on, "If they're offended by what they see, they can do what Joe Paterno did - look the other way."
Ellen Barkin, Jane Lynch and Gilbert Gottfried were among those throwing barbs Barr's way. Tom Arnold, Barr's former husband, had said he would not participate, but put in a surprise appearance. "We have not been in the same room for 18 years," Arnold said to his seemingly stunned former spouse, reports the Los Angeles Times. He then launched into an expletive-filled diatribe about their marriage and sex life, calling their life together "a white-trash Camelot."
After it was all over, Roseanne said the night was "fan-tastic."
