Portland, OR (KATU/CNN) - There's no fooling highway police in Portland, Oregon.

A woman thought she could pull a fast one in the HOV lane.

Her passenger? A large stuffed teddy bear.

A whopping $260 ticket because Scarlett Zibritovsky was busted illegally riding in the HOV lane in Interstate 5.

"I'm rolling by in my car driving I turn see and motorcycle cop. I have this huge smile on my face and I'm like yep I'm getting a ticket right now. I think he chuckled under his helmet he had to have," said Zibritovsky.

She got the ticket because the cop saw what she had riding alongside her as her passenger.

Zibritovsky says the officer even snapped a photo of the bizarre bear riding shotgun.

"I was trying to get home I was going on camping trip trying to get home fast wasn't right thing to do just got over thought if I can get a couple cars ahead of me why not," said Zibritovsky.

So why was she rolling around with Zeff, the giant bear anyway?

"I was getting rid of a lot of stuff, I love the bear what am I going to do with it? I'll have it in my car in case I do stop at goodwill or maybe give it to a kid or somebody who will do more taking up my closet space," she said. "He was in the back seat for awhile I thought it might make my car cuter if he was riding in front with me."

But the real question: Did she think she'd get away with it?

"Yeah, in a way I was driving in HOV lane with teddy bear it looked like a person. I'm a Good Samaritan. Normally don't break the law," she said.

After she got the ticket she took her own photo, and says she's learned her lesson.

"Live and learn. Definitely learned not to fake a passenger with a huge bear as a passenger," she said.

Zibritovsky says she's only been driving around with the bear for a couple months. She says she's never tried this before.

She plans on going to court, hoping to get that fine reduced.
