Hollywood, CA (CNN) - Ellen DeGeneres is already a star, now she has one.

The comedienne and Emmy award-winning talk show host was honored with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday morning.

She was full of smiles and jokes at the ceremony.

"Yeah, I'm from New Orleans. And we took one trip, one vacation and it was to Hollywood. And we walked this Walk of Fame. We looked at the stars on the sidewalk here on Hollywood Boulevard, and we took the tour of celebrity homes. And now today I'm getting a star on the Walk of Fame and I am a stop on the tour of celebrities' home. So it's kind of a, don't come by," said DeGeneres.

She also pointed out that she spent her career making sure people didn't walk all over her and now they get the chance.

Her show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," begins its ninth season next week.
