Kara DioGuardi becomes a mom

Happy news coming from former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi.

People.com reports that DioGuardi, 42, and husband Mike McCuddy welcomed a son on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Greyson James Carroll McCuddy was born to the couple via gestational surrogate at 1:01 p.m, according to her rep. He weighed in a 8 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 20-3/4 inches long.

Greyson's birth comes after miscarriages and failed IVF attempts for songwriter DioGuardi.
