KSDK-- Saturday was Pit Bull Awareness Day at The Humane Society Of Missouri in St. Louis.
People were able to meet and greet the dogs rescued in July from the the nation's largest dogfighting ring. Many have gone through extensive rehabilitation.
Animal advocates say Pit Bulls and other "power breeds" often have a bad reputation. With proper training, love and affection they say the dogs can easily become outstanding pets.
