KSDK -- 20 years ago this week, St. Louis went Hollywood.
The production compnay making the movie "White Palace" began working downtown. It stars Susan Sarandon and James Spader.
White Palace is a movie about a West County advertising executive who gets involved with a waitress from Dogtown. Much of the filming was done in local neighborhoods.
The film met a lukewarm reception from critics. Some complained it moved too slowly and was predictable. Others thought Spader and Sarandon delivered a powerful performance.
Just this year, George Clooney visited St. Louis to film his new movie, "Up in the Air". Expect to see plenty of recognizable settings in the film. "Up in the Air" is scheduled for release December 25.
