Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania (RTV) -- A group of British and Irish rockers has claimed the world record for the highest altitude electric gig.

The five musicians played a concert at the peak of Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro, 19,341 feet high.

The rockers, crew and porters spent five days carrying their equipment to the top of Africa's highest peak. The equipment included a mixing desk, a complete drum kit, a PA, batteries and several guitars.

The band raised money and awareness for Smile Train, a charity dedicated to providing free cleft surgery for millions of children in developing countries.

There is currently no record for an electric-powered rock gig atop a mountain, but the band is seeking the official title from Guinness World Records.
