Woman in crash that killed firefighter arrested for DWI

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) – A 38-year-old Pacific woman has been arrested under the suspicion of DWI for his involvement in a head-on collision that killed a 27-year veteran of the Eureka Fire Protection District.

Jael Clem is charged with manslaughter, second degree assault and driving while intoxicated.

Eureka firefighter Greg Light – who was off-duty at the time of the crash – was driving westbound on Route O. Clem, who was in the eastbound lane, allegedly tried to pass another driver, hitting Light's car head-on. Light was not wearing a seatbelt.

An 11-year-old passenger in Clem's car was seriously injured, and Light was pronounced dead on the scene.

An investigation is ongoing, and no additional information was immediately available.
