Tremonton, Utah (KSL) -- A teenager in northern Utah died from a blast to the face from a replica 18th century hand cannon.
Officials say the boy, Robbie Osterg, would frequently play with the cannon and would shoot tin balls out of it.
Police said this time Ostberg and his 16-year-old brother were playing video games in the front room when he started handling the replica cannon.
"At some point in handling that the cannon fired and struck him in the face," said Tremonton Police Chief David Pance.
He died at the scene from severe head injuries.
Police said the cannon was designed to be able to fire 50 caliber rounds.
Police are still looking into what exactly was fired from the gun.
