Palm Harbor, FL (WTSP/CNN) - We can all probably learn something from an unselfish, energetic 8-year-old boy living in Florida.
He's running his own cupcake and lemonade stand, but he's not doing it for himself.
Perhaps the most enthusiastic lemonade salesman is an 8-year-old boy who gets excited about the recipe, celebrates every sale, and is more than willing to try the finished product.
But for Harrison Godwin, selling involves caring.
"Alex, she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma," said Harrison.
Alexandra Scott was a little girl whose cancer fight helped create Alex's Lemonade Stand, a national foundation.
Harrison never knew her, but he wanted to help. All the money goes to pediatric cancer research.
"Somebody on the computer donated, like, $500 and I went skyrocketing past my goal. It just blew it open," said Harrison.
For him, that's just the icing on the cupcake.
"I hope it can help kids by scientists finding a cure. Or what I was thinking, when I grow up, I was going to invent these little nano-bots that can swallow them and then they can fight cancer for you with their little mini lasers and stuff. And they have this big, big thing that sucks away mucus," said Harrison.
So if you hear a kid ask, "Would you like some cupcakes or lemonade?"
There might be an even sweeter goal behind it.
This is Harrison's second year working with Alex's Lemonade Stand.
