Pyongyang, North Korea (CNN) - After a failed rocket launch, North Korea's new leader led a massive rally for his late father and grandfather.

Kim Jong Un watched as giant statues of his father, Kim Jong Il, and grandfather, Kim Il Sung were unveiled.

The unveiling comes on the same day that the launch of its controversial rocket failed.

It broke apart before leaving the earth's atmosphere and fell into the sea.
