(CNN) - More kids will soon learn how our government works, thanks to retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
On Wednesday, she announced an expansion of her program that teaches children about democracy and civics.
It will now include the Boys and Girls Club of America.
O'Connor says this education is needed because kids are not being taught the subject in schools.
She said a national survey shows only about one in three Americans could name all three branches of the U.S. government.
O'Connor was the first woman to sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.
She retired in 2006.
