Minneapolis (WCCO) -- Three parked cars burst into flames overnight in Minneapolis, after lightning hit a power line that fell onto the vehicles.

The flames burned through the asphalt and hit a gas line under the street, making things especially dangerous for emergency crews.

"Our crews extinguished the bulk of the fires and we always leave gas fires burning because the danger of course is explosions from vapors."

Utility crews are now digging up the street.
