Hartford, CT (WFSB/CNN) - A Hartford man received a heart transplant Tuesday, giving him a second chance at life.
Colby Salerno has been at Hartford Hospital since December, waiting and even blogging about his ordeal.
The father of the heart donor had mixed emotions after his son died.
"I'm happy that he can go on living, but I'm not happy that I lost my son," said Richard Caron.
"I'm so happy my son has been given the gift he's waited 166 days for," said Kelly Salerno, Colby's mother.
Salerno needed a new heart because of a congenital defect.
