DENVER (AP) - The newly shaped Republican presidential ticket is fighting growing pains amid charges from President Barack Obama's re-election team that Mitt Romney favors his new running mate's controversial plans to overhaul Medicare and cut trillions from social programs.

The debate moves across five swing states Tuesday.

Romney will be in Ohio on the final day of his multistate bus tour. His vice presidential pick, Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan, will be courting voters and donors in Colorado and Nevada.

The Republicans are working through the challenge of planning double the events, coordinating messaging on the road, handling new security stresses and simply getting to know each other.

Obama is on the second day of an Iowa bus tour, while Biden is set to campaign in rural southern Virginia.
