McComb, MS (CNN) - A controlled release of a dam along Lake Tangipahoa in southern Mississippi is under close supervision.
Officials decided to open the dam to release pressure building from heavy rains dumped by Isaac.
Damage to the dam forced the evacuation of some 60,000 residents.
Soldiers with the Louisiana and Mississippi National Guard worked overnight to restore land washed away along the dam in Percy Quin State Park.
