Powell, AL (WAFF/CNN) - An Alabama man laid to rest more than a year ago has to be re-buried, all because of a mistake by the cemetery.
The 57-year-old died of a massive stroke and was buried in May 2011. Since then, his family was told the cemetery buried him in a plot purchased by another family.
The family initially fought efforts to exhume the casket, but recently agreed to have it moved two plots over.
"I wouldn't wish it on anybody. The stuff that I went through with him dying and everything and having to bury him this, having to dig him up and move him again. It's all the pain I had from losing my dad it's happening all over again," said Chris Phillips.
The cemetery will cover the cost to move the casket and even offered to hold another burial ceremony.
