Philadelphia, PA (WPVI/CNN) - A Republic Airlines flight attendant was cited for having a handgun in her carry-on bag at Philadelphia International Airport Sunday.
But that's just the half of it.
TSA screeners saw the weapon when she passed through security. A police officer tried to unload the gun and fired a shot into the wall.
No one was hurt.
The attendant, who is licensed for the gun, says she forgot it was in her bag.
"You would expect that she would be more vigilant about it, she travels so much it should be second nature to take it out, check her bags out before coming to the airport," said traveler Brian Saldanha.
Philadelphia police have launched an internal investigation over how the gun was handled by its officer.
