Elgin, IL (WLS/CNN) - Police in Illinois found 60 dead cats and a dead dog in a van parked outside a home in Elgin. Now, the homeowner is charged with animal cruelty.
William Tinkler was arrested Wednesday and posted the $150 bail.
Neighbors and friends say Tinkler took care of his pets and didn't put them in the van until after they died, but, police aren't sure what killed the animals.
Authorities have condemned the home.
Tinkler heads back to court in November.
