Midland, TX (KWES/CNN) - Federal investigators Tuesday recreated last week's deadly collision between a parade float and a freight train in Texas.
They staged a train and truck at the railroad crossing in Midland where the accident happened. Authorities want to know who could see what and when.
On Thursday, a train plowed into a flatbed trailer carrying a dozen military veterans and their wives.
Four veterans were killed and more than a dozen people injured.
The National Transportation Safety Board says the railroad track's warning system worked as it was supposed to, sounding a warning that the train was coming.
Midland city officials say the military appreciation organization sponsoring the parade did not apply for a parade permit.
That raises questions about whether the railroad had been notified of the event.
