Mead, CO (KUSA) - There is no such thing as a typical day as a firefighter. They have to be prepared to respond to anything.
Saturday, however, was a first for members of Mountain View Fire and Rescue, Station 3.
Video posted to YouTube shows the firefighters trying to rescue Henry, a pig that tips the scales between 700 and 1,300 lbs, depending on who you ask.
Henry fell into a 6-foot deep hole at a farm in Mead.
Henry's owners say he is normally an even-tempered pig, but he was a little agitated as firefighters worked to hoist him out.
"It was a lot louder than I ever thought a pig could be," said Greg Munns with Mountain View Fire & Rescue. "He hopped out and we all ran. He calmed down right away and drank some Dr. Pepper."
His owners claim soda helps calm Henry down.
The pig was not hurt in the fall or the rescue.
