SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ (NEWS 12) - Superstorm Sandy took one Jersey Shore roller coaster out of commission, but could not stop a man from paddling his canoe to it, climbing it and unfurling a US flag.
Police apprehended Chris Angulo after his jaunt on the Jet Star Roller Coaster.
It used to be part of Casino Pier, until Sandy came along.
When police arrived, Angulo walked down and hopped into a police boat. He was cuffed and escorted to a police car on the beach.
Angulo's mother says her son is a bit of a daredevil. She says the 38-year-old was trying to call attention to Sandy recovery.
Charges are pending, but they'll likely include trespassing.
