WAIKIKI, UNITED STATES: Japanese tourists stroll along Waikiki Beach in Hawaii 06 September, 2001, following a shark siting 05 September,2001, which closed the world famous beach until after sunset. Lifeguards and the crew of a low-flying helicopter used bullhorns to order hundreds of beach goers out of the water after three sharks were spotted, 50 meters from the shore. There have been no recent shark attacks in Hawaii. The beach reopened after authorities determined that the black-tip sharks had left the area.
