PHOTOS: Church collapse in North St. Louis closes school
The Bethlehem Lutheran Church had stood at the corner of Salisbury Street and North Florissant Avenue in north St. Louis for nearly 120 years. But on Sunday afternoon, it wasn't much more than a pile of rubble. On Friday, the church collapsed and a wall fell toward North Florissant Avenue. The immediate concern was for the Better Learning Communities Academy charter school on the other side of the church. For safety reasons, it'll be closed at least through Monday.
