Farmington, Missouri (KSDK) - A St. Francois County woman has been placed on fie years probation for her guilty plea to attempted child endangerment charges connected to the death of her infant daughter.

25 year old Jaimee Scott of Bismarck pleaded guilty to the charge after originally being charged with a more serious felony of failing to protect the child.

24 year old Ricardo Medina; the father of the baby, previously entered an Alford plea to a charge of felony child abuse resulting in death and was sentenced to serve a 22 year prison term.

Investigators say the child was severely injured after being thrown across a room onto a hardwood floor in April 2009 at the family's home.

The baby girl died at a St. Louis hospital while undergoing treatment for a severe brain injury.
