Franklin County (KSDK) - A Franklin County man was arrested after getting busted with more than 100 marijuana plants.

Police said the man was growing marijuana so he could make his house payments.

Police made the bust late last week at a Catawissa area home where a 49-year-old man was arrested for allegedly growing the pot. Police said it's the second time the man was caught growing and selling the drug from his home.

Investigators said the man was growing pot in a shed and in a large storage container similar to a greenhouse. Narcotics enforcement officials said the man had a setup that was much more sophisticated than the average pot operation.

"When the economy went down and he lost his job, basically this was how he was making his house payment and he said he would rather take a chance on us busting him than losing his house," said Detective Darryl Balleydier with the Franklin County Narcotics Enforcement Unit.

Police are not releasing the man's name at this time because charges have not been filed.

They do say he was growing pot with a 6-month-old child in the home.
