Benton, IL (KSDK) - A pair of southeast Illinois residents pleaded guilty in federal court Friday in connection to a methamphetamine charge, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois Stephen Wigginton said.
William Wohlwend of Gorham, Illinois and Heidi Libbert of Grand Tower, Illinois admitted to conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. The charge carries a possible sentence of five to 40 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $5 million and four years supervised release.
According to court documents, the offense occurred between 2009 and April 6, 2011, in Jackson, Union, Randolph and Williamson counties.
Wohlwend and Libbert will be sentenced February 23, 2012.
Six co-defendants have previously pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing. Three co-defendants are currently awaiting plea dates. Seven co-defendants have pleaded not guilty and are awaiting a January 9, 2012 jury trial.
