St. Louis (KSDK) -- MoDOT is closing a portion of eastbound Interstate 64 this weekend for ongoing roadwork. But unlike other weekend closures, this time road crews are offering a break for Blues fans.

The closures start at 7 p.m. Friday night on eastbound I-64 between Jefferson Ave. and Sixth Street. Ramps from Pine Street, Forest Park Ave., and Ewing onto EB I-64 will also be closed through the weekend.

Saturday night at 6 p.m., crews will open one eastbound lane on I-64 to the 14th Street exit, to allow Blues fans easier access to the dowtown area.

MoDOT also warns that there will be occassional lane closures on the westbound side of I-64.

To avoid any hassle, MoDOT says your best detour would be Interstate 44.

All work should be wrapped up by the Monday morning commute.
