Police: Fugitive Michael Fedrick arrested

Collinsville, Ill. (KSDK) - On Thursday, Illinois State Police announced they had arrested fugitive Michael R. Fedrick at the Red Roof Inn in Florrisant, Missouri.

The 26-year-old had warrants issued in Madison County, Illinois, for 21 felony counts, including multiple counts of First Degree Murder, Home Invasion, Armed Robbery and Residential Burglary.

Bond on the arrested warrant is set at $1 million.

On December 9, 2011, Fedrick along with 25-year-old Russell Battle are alleged to have invaded a home in Venice, Illinois while armed to committ a robbery. Two victims in the home struggled with Fedrick and Battle during the alleged robbery.

The struggle prompted multiple shots to be fired, striking both the two victims and Fedricks and Battles.

Fedrick fled while Battle died at the scene.

The two victims received treatment at a local hospital and survived.

Fedrick also sought treatment at a local hospital but fled after surgery with his leg in a air splint.

Police say tips from the public were instrumental for investigators in location Fedrick.
